Women’s Counselling Service is a nongovernmental and non-profit organisation, established in 1993. Until that year we are very active on the field of developing and offering services to our users and other projects as:

• Publishing the brochure “Road away from violence”;
• Organizing training for experts on the field of domestic violence with cooperation with Dutch Police;
• Translation and publishing the book “Violence against women – Police responsibility” by Dutch authors;
• Awareness raising campaign “She can’t we can.«
• European awareness raising campaign “The Stairs”

We were initiators for establishing the Experts committee for the field of violence against women in the Ministry for work and Social affairs and the president of this committee is the president of our NGO.

THE AIMS AND ACTIVITIES OF WOMEN’S COUNSELLING SERVICE:

• Women’s networking,
• Increasing public awareness about violence against women
• Education for experts and volunteers in the field of working with abused women,
• Developing new projects on the field of helping abused women,
• Developing system of cooperation in cases of violence against women between governmental and nongovernmental organisations
   
• Counselling (phone counselling or in person)
  • Short or long term counselling
  • Making a safety plan
  • How to deal with consequences of abuse
• Advocacy
  • Accompany to institutions, to police, to court, to centres of social work
  • Help with writing application, official letters and complaints
• Giving information
  • About other organization, which can be helpful source
  • About housing
  • About legal rights and procedures
• Support groups
  • For women, who are experiencing domestic violence
  • For women, who experienced rape
